Tarsus Medical Group is a division of Tarsus, an international business-to-business media group with interests in exhibitions, conferences, publishing and online media.  Tarsus is operational worldwide in several key sectors and launched its medical division, the Tarsus Medical Group, which has grown to consist of a portfolio of six entities within the medical education and conference industries.

These include: the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), Metabolic Medical Institute (MMI), the Cardiometabolic Health Congress (CMHC), the South Beach Symposium (SBS), PAINWeek and MedTech Impact. The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M)

Established in 1992, The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) continues to be the leading not-for-profit medical society dedicated to the detection, prevention and treatment of age related diseases. The A4M is dedicated to educating physicians, scientists, and the public on biomedical sciences, breaking technologies, and preventative medicine issues. A4M is comprised of over 26,000 members from 120 nations worldwide including healthcare practitioners, scientists, researchers, and governmental officials. A4M provides two Board Certification tracks which include the American Board of Anti-Aging/ Regenerative Medicine (ABAARM) for physicians, and the American Board of Anti-Aging Health Practitioners (ABAAHP) for allied health professionals.

The A4M World Congresses held in both the spring in Florida and the winter in Las Vegas are highly attended live events showcasing presentations and specialty workshops hosted by prominent speakers from the anti-aging and aesthetic medical fields. Each of these events also host over 350 exhibitors. The Metabolic Medical Institute, Inc. (MMI)

MMI

The Metabolic Medical Institute (MMI) is the entity which houses advanced medical education for A4M, and its mission is to meet the demand for premium evidence-based programs in metabolic, nutritional, functional, and integrative medicine for physicians and allied health professionals.  With its portfolio of live and online courses, MMI offers the opportunity to earn advanced degrees from a variety of distinguished accredited universities.  This includes an affiliation with The Morsani College of Medicine at The University of South Florida (USF) to provide Fellowships in Metabolic and Nutritional Medicine, Aesthetics, Stem Cell Therapy, and Integrative Cancer Treatment.  MMI, in partnership with USF also offers various Certification programs as well as two Master’s programs in Medical Sciences. And, through its affiliation with The George Washington University, MMI offers a Graduate Certificate in Integrative Medicine for graduates with a previous health degree.

There is an undisputable universal shift into more personalized medicine arising from advances in technology to detect genetic and metabolic predispositions to disease, the utility of these technologies by clinicians, and an increasing awareness by patients who request this type of clinical service.  This shift along with the changing US healthcare landscape, both present new challenges and opportunities making collaboration increasingly necessary for success. The Cardio Metabolic Health Congress (CMHC)

CMHC

CMHC was acquired by the Tarsus Medical Group in early 2014 and it expanded the organization’s live and online medical education offerings to include events focused on the prevention and management of cardiometabolic diseases. The CMHC is the largest U.S. event in the cardiometabolic field and is attended by physicians including endocrinologists, cardiologists and primary care physicians, as well as allied health professionals such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants every October.

The CMHC Regional track was launched in 2015 as a series comprising of 3 one-day conferences in different locations around the U.S.  This now provides a convenient way for clinicians to earn CME/CE credits in their geographic area, while learning about current, new, and emerging therapies, treatment guidelines, and practical strategies to reduce cardiometabolic risk and improve patient outcomes from expert faculty.

The South Beach Symposium (SBS)

SBS

In late 2014, Tarsus added the South Beach Symposium (SBS) to its medical division’s portfolio. SBS provides medical education to physicians and professional staff members of medical practices specializing in dermatology, plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, pediatric dermatology and other dermatologic medical procedures.  SBS holds its Annual Symposium as a live opportunity to educate practicing dermatologists about advances in clinical and aesthetic dermatology from nationally known dermatologic experts in various sub-specialty areas. The 5-day conference provides a comprehensive overview of the newest therapies and procedures through advanced educational sessions and live patient workshops.  SBS provides attendees with transferable skills and related techniques that can quickly and easily be adapted to their current practice environment.

PAINWEEK

PAINWEEK

In 2015, Tarsus Medical announced the acquisition of PAINWeek, which addresses the medical world’s recent interest with Pain Management and the vital concern surrounding the repercussions that come from the use of pain medications.  PAINWeek, which was launched in 2007 as an inclusive education event in Las Vegas, stands as the largest U.S. Pain Conference and has grown to be considered the Pain Education Resource for all Frontline Practitioners. PAINWeekends, the regional expansion of the annual PAINWeek event, have grown to over 10 events throughout the year in various conveniently located U.S. cities. The PAINWeek communications platform spans live, digital and print communications representing a single resource for busy practitioners that extends both the experience and energy from the national and regional conferences throughout the year to a wider audience of frontline practitioners that have an interest in pain management. PAINWeek’s annual events take place at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in August/September and welcome physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals for a comprehensive program of courses, CME activities, satellite events, and exhibits.

MedTech Impact

MedTech Impact

Tarsus Medical launches this new and exciting Expo and Conference focused on medical devices and wearable technology in December 2016, which will debut co-located at the 24th Annual Winter World Congress on Anti-Aging Medicine in Las Vegas, NV.  “Our core teaching through all of our medical education entities relies heavily on technology and changes rapidly due to the landscape, so we knew we wanted to provide this opportunity for medical practitioners and hospital administrators to be exposed to the latest in the medical technology world,” said Doreen Brown, CEO of the Tarsus Medical Group.  “Being co-located with the A4M World Congress provides an unprecedented chance to bring the entire profession together, from practitioners to technological companies, electronic medical companies, and laboratories to move the needle forward in the high-tech future of medical care.”

Big players in the wearables consumer industry like Under Armour will be represented on stage along with executives from MyFitnessPal, R&D teams of Virtual Reality systems targeting areas of clinical assessment, treatment and rehabilitation that have focused their work on many recent high profile clinical conditions including Autism, Alzheimer’s stroke, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), ADHD and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

MedTech Impact will work hand-in-hand with the MMI fellowship educational modules as they address applicable protocols for doctors to track their patients’ compliance include many technologies and wearables.  Organizations will have the opportunity to network with the physicians, practitioners and clinic administrators, developers and leading technologists who organize and decide on which medical technologies and wearables are best suited for their practices and individual patients.
